Step-by-step
- Cover work area with a synthetic dining table address.
- Wearing plastic gloves, shake fluid dye bottles before pouring. For dyeing a small amount of buttons, measure and blend 1 teaspoon fluid dye or 2 teaspoons dust dye with 1 glass warm water, or follow the color formula that you choose. Use much more dye for darker colors. Water must certanly be about 140 F. Should your tap water is certainly not hot adequate, heat up some in microwave or a tea kettle.
- Always test the dye shade with a paper towel or scrap of white-cotton fabric before dyeing. If color is simply too light, add even more dye; when it is also dark, add even more liquid.
- Pour dye and water into a plastic container; blend. Ensure container is deep adequate for buttons and beads is fully immersed within the dye while moving freely.
- Keep buttons and beads in dye solution for 2-5 moments, or until desired shade is attained. Stir sometimes and check color frequently.
