DYLON Machine Dye Guidelines
The shade you achieve depends on 3 things:
1. FABRIC KIND
• Cotton, linen & viscose will color to full tone
• Polyester/cotton & polyester/viscose mixes will dye to lighter shade
• Wool, silk, polyester, acrylic, nylon & textile with special finishes e.g. ‘dry clean only’, is not colored
2. FABRIC AMOUNT
• One pack will color to 600g of fabric (e.g. jeans, bathtub towel, double sheet) fully tone & to 1.2kg of material (example. two fold duvet) to less heavy color
• several packages will dye larger quantities to full color, e.g. 2 packs for 1200g (e.g. two fold duvet) or 4 packs for 2kg (example. curtains)
3. INITIAL FABRIC COLOR
• You can alter one strong color to a different (or dye it to a light shade) simply by using DYLON PRE-DYE which lightens before you dye, prepared for colour modification.
• usually colour mixing rules use, e.g. blue dye on red fabric provides purple
• Patterned textile will frequently nevertheless show-through
GUIDELINES
• Weigh dried out material to make sure you've got adequate dye
• clean thoroughly, regardless if brand-new, to get rid of stains or any dressings that may not be seen

IDEAS

• Don’t use more than five packs of dye simultaneously

• Dyeing cannot cover spots, faded places or bleach marks
