DYLON Give Dye Guidelines

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Weigh dried out material. Wash completely. Keep moist
2. Making use of rubberized gloves, dissolve dye in 500ml heated water
3. Fill bowl/stainless metal sink with approx 6 litres heated water (40°C)
4. Stir in 250g (5tbsp) salt. Add dye & stir well
5. Submerge fabric in water
6. Blend for 15mins, then stir on a regular basis for 45mins
7. Rinse material in cold water. Wash-in tepid water and dried out away from direct temperature & sunshine

TIPS

• You will need 250g sodium
• 1 pack dyes up to 250g textile (e.g. shirt) to full shade or larger amounts to lighter shade
• appropriate fabrics: Cotton, linen and viscose. Wool, Silk, Polyester/cotton and polyester/viscose mixes will dye to lighter color
• Not suitable: Pure polyester, acrylic, nylon & material with unique finishes
• Wash separately for first few washes to remove any excess dye
• please be aware: Colour mixing principles apply (example. blue on red provides purple)

MICROWAVE DYING

• give dye can be utilized in the microwave generate unique results.
• For cotton, linen, silk and polyester/cotton mixes just.
• Micro-Dyeing is certainly not appropriate wool, viscose or artificial textiles.
• DON'T USE ON VISCOSE, AS FABRIC CAN GIVE OFF HARMFUL FUMES.
• Pull all-metal on fabric (zips, studs, etc).

How To Use

1. Clean the material and then leave moist.
2. Select your special effect and prepare the material by scrunching, knotting, turning or folding – tie all fabrics tightly.
3. Wearing rubber gloves, vacant the dye carefully into the dish and gradually include 250 ml / ½ pint of hot-water. Stir completely to make certain dye is dissolved. Include more 250 ml / ½ pint of liquid.
4. Place the fabric within the dish and work into the dye.
5. Place the bowl into a plastic bag or plastic place and put in microwave. Set on ‘high’ for 4 mins.
6. After 4 moments take away the dish from range – be sure you protect the hands from temperature.
7. Tip away the dye answer and rinse the fabric in cold water. To guard the design do not undo any knots, twists, folds etc., before water works clear.
